(optional) icing sugar
directions
Peel and thinly slice apples and place in large bowl. Sprinkle lemon over apples and stir to coat. Add Cranberries. In a second bowl mix together brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Then combine apple mixture and brown sugar mixture, making sure to coat the apples well. Set aside while you roll out the Puff pasty.Roll out each section of puff pastry into a large square then cut into four smaller but equal sized squares. Place on large cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. You may need 2 trays. On each square place a healthy amount of the cranberry apple mixture. Fold and pinch the pastry dough until it resembles a circle. If you dampen your fingers with the egg wash or water it will help to stick the edges together. Once pastry is folded, brush the pastry with egg wash and bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 35-40 minutes or until pastry is a nice golden colour.
Let cool 5 minutes then sprinkle with icing sugar.
