How to make simple homemade Danishes

Step 1:
Thaw the pastry according to package instructions. Roll out the pastry sheet onto working surface leaving it on the parchment paper. Cut into quarters.

Step 2:
In the center of each square place 1tbsp of cream cheese

Step 3:
Spoon approximately 1/3 cup of fresh fruit (pineapple and blueberries are shown here) on top of the cream cheese.

Step 4:
Using a knife, cut through the pastry on each side creating mini strips (about a half inch apart).

Step 5:
Fold the pastry into ribbons placing one end on top of the other. This will create small pastry bundles. Transfer bundles to a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
Bake at 350°F for 18-25 minutes until pastry is golden brown. Enjoy with a cup of tea or coffee.
